Adult Survey

Physical Activity Levels of Western Australian Adults

This survey is undertaken by the Physical Activity Taskforce to provide a measure of physical activity levels among West Australian adults. Surveys have been conducted in 1999, 2002 and 2006 and another is planned for 2009. The survey provides information for planning and developing initiatives aimed at improving levels of physical activity and health in Western Australia. Information about attitudes, knowledge and behaviour trends can also be seen across the three surveys.

Physical Activity Levels of Western Australian Adults:

The Baby Boomers and Beyond

A secondary analysis of the 2006 Adult Physical Activity Survey data looking at the physical activity levels of those aged 45 years and older, was undertaken by the Taskforce and the Centre for the Built Environment and Health. Given that physical inactivity is one of the most important and modifiable risk factors contributing to ill health, particularly for people as they age, this report provides information for planning and developing initiatives aimed at improving the physical activity levels of this group.
