Ben Kent Presentation

Ben Kent's presentation drew on his experience in the youth sector to share what he has learnt regarding young people's value and desire when it comes to keeping active.

The presentation discussed the urban spaces we build to encourage healthier lifestyles, how to encourage young people to get back onto the street, into parks and the real world.

Ben Kent has been heavily involved in the youth sector for many years. He sits on the Board of the Youth Affairs Coalition of WA and represented WA as a Young Member of National Youth Week 2010. Ben attended the 2020 Youth Summit and subsequent 2020 Summit to represent youth ideas around sustainability and our cities, and continues to advocate on behalf of youth through involvement in various organisations.

Ben works for the Department of Transport in a program called Living Smart which encourages Perth households to adopt more sustainable behaviours in the areas of energy, water, waste and transport.

Ben also runs a facilitation consultancy and has worked on behalf of the Federal Government’s Office for Youth, YACWA and the WA Commissioner for Children and Young People.
