Community Infrastructure Planning Seminar

The Physical Activity Taskforce conducted a Community Infrastructure Planning Seminar for the Local Government sector and interested persons on Monday 13th December 2010.

The seminar attracted 70 attendees and discussed the development of Community Infrastructure Plans and how to apply the State Planning Policy 3.6 Developer Contributions. 

Presentations were conducted by:

  • Katrina Elliott, Associate, Planning Context and
  • Michael Quirk, Manager Community Infrastructure Planning, City of Rockingham.

Katrina's presentation provided an overview of the State Planning Policy (SPP) 3.6 Development Contributions for Infrastructure and how the policy can be interpreted to inform the planning process. Michael's presentation provided a practical example of how Local Governments can successfully apply SPP 3.6 and what it means in reality.

Following the presentations Allison Hailes from the WA Local Government Association and Sue Burrow from the Department of Planning joined Katrina Elliott and Michael Quirk answered questions in a panel session.
