Adult Survey 1999, 2002, 2006 & 2009

The Physical Activity Adult Survey was undertaken by the Physical Activity Taskforce to provide a measure of physical activity levels among West Australian adults. Surveys have been conducted in 1999, 2002, 2006 and 2009.

Baby Boomers and Beyond Report, 2006/07

Given that physical inactivity is one of the most important and modifiable risk factors contributing to ill health, particularly for people as they age, the Physical Activity Taskforce conducted a secondary analysis of the 2006 adult physical activity survey data, restricted to adults aged over 45 years - the 'baby boomers'.

In 2006/2007 Western Australia introduced Daylight Saving on a trial basis for three years. The Taskforce conducted research to investigate the impact of Daylight Saving on physical activity participation in Western Australia between November 2006 and March 2008.

Local Activity Grants Evaluation

Local Activity Grants Evaluation

The Local Activity Grants program offered matched grants for local governments and community groups to encourage new and innovative approaches to increasing physical activity. The grants recognised a sustainable increase in physical activity requires a cross-government, multi agency approach.

The WA Department of Health released its summary of adult data from the Health and Wellbeing Surveillance Survey (HWSS) on 16 July 2011. The HWSS is a continuous data collection system which was developed by the Department of Health to monitor the health and wellbeing of Western Australians.
