2008 CAPANS

The Physical Activity Taskforce conducted the CAPANS survey to provide a measure of physical activity levels and nutrition behaviours of West Australian children and adolescents. In 2008, children in years 3, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 from 19 primary schools and 17 secondary schools across WA were surveyed about their physical activity and food intake.

Following the release of the key findings report in 2009, the final report was released on 28 June 2010 and includes additional findings including information on body image, take away food consumption and nutritional information. Where possible the 2008 Survey was compared to the findings in 2003.
Errata Notice
Please note that a two of the tables presented in Table 16: Mean daily minutes spent in sedentary activities, 2008: year five and seven children and Table 17: Mean daily minutes spent in sedentary activities, 2008: secondary school children (page 31) of the original printed report are incorrect.
The attached Errata presents the correct data and should be referred to instead of the page published in the original report.
