The resource provides guidance to councils (and other interested parties) on how to address active living principles and practices as councils prepare and implement the new IPR Framework.

Whilst written for New South Wales councils, the resource offers valuable guidance to Western Australian local governments on how to integrate active living outcomes into a strategic community plans. In Western Australia as per the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework being introduced, all local governments will be required to produce a minimum 10 year Strategic Community Plan informed by community aspirations.

The Physical Activity Taskforce is currently preparing Western Australian specific guidance on how to incorporate active living as a priority through strategic planning processes. A resource will be available in the coming months.
