Local Government Injury Prevention and Community Safety Building Project

Funded by the Department of Health, the Local Government Injury Prevention and Community Safety Capacity Building Project is an exciting new initiative for PHAIWA in 2012. The pilot project will engage with local government authorities (LGAs) to investigate the options to promote and enhance community injury prevention (CIP) and community safety (CS) at a local level.

Perth Bicycle Network Local Government Grants

The Perth Bicycle Network (PBN) is an identified network of cycling routes across the metropolitan area. Coordinated by the Department of Transport. Main Roads WA and the Public Transport Authority deliver the Principal Shared Path component, but the majority of the routes, along with the development of local network plans are delivered by local government authorities with funding assistance through the State Government's PBN Local Government Grants Program.

Coastwest Grants Program

Western Australia’s coastal environments have unique and diverse values, and face a range of difficult challenges including the effects of climate change, population growth, competing uses and degradation. The annual Coastwest Grants support projects designed as a response to these challenges, which improve the condition and amenity of these coastal environments. Telstra Connected Seniors Grants

Grants between $1,000 and $50,000 are available from Telstra to support Seniors in connecting with technology. Eligible organisations can include sports clubs, seniors social groups or community organisations like Rotary. The program allows organisations to run training courses for their members, introducing them to new technology in ways which are fun, hands on and solve everyday problems. In practical terms, this could be as simple as arranging a bridge game via SMS messaging, or emailing family photos.

Community Road Safety Grants Program

The Government of Western Australia through the Road Safety Council has made funds available from the Road Trauma Trust Fund to assist in the development and implementation of road safety projects. Health Promotion Research Grants

The health promotion research program provides grants for research leading to the promotion of good health and the prevention of illness in the community. Healthway encourages innovative research projects and collaborative studies that foster the sharing of skills and expertise. Research grants are generally awarded to researchers based in WA universities, and Healthway places a strong emphasis on supporting research with strong links to policy and practice. Applications are assessed on their potential to generate outcomes that will be translated into benefits for the WA community, as well as their alignment to Healthway’s health promotion priorities.

Sharing Stories presented by Make time to talk

Sharing Stories is a developmental community arts sponsorship program sponsored by Healthway and managed by Community Arts Network WA (CANWA) to promote Relationships Australia’s Make Time to Talk Message. The fund offers up to $5,000 towards arts projects in the Wheatbelt, Goldfields and Great Southern regions in WA that encourage community participation and inspire creativity, with a particular focus on young people and Indigenous groups.

Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF)

The purpose of the program is to provide Western Australian Government financial assistance to community groups and local government authorities to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation. Regional Talent Development Program

The Regional Talent Development Program (formerly Regional Academy of Sport Program) is an initiative of the Department of Sport and Recreation and plays a vital role in the regional sports system by enabling State Sporting Associations (SSAs) to develop an infrastructure that provides a sequential pathway for talented regional athletes to achieve their potential in sport. Through the program, SSAs are able to seek funding to initiate and deliver sport development initiatives that match the skill level of their most talented athletes. These initiatives are intended to produce a recognised and systematic approach to assisting talented athletes from regional areas to enter mainstream high performance programs.

Regional Grants Scheme

Regional Flight Assistance Program
