The Plan identifies four modifiable risk factors:

  • Poor nutrition;
  • Physical inactivity;
  • Smoking; and
  • Harmful alcohol consumption.

The Department of Health's Implementation Plan for 2011-12 to 2014-15 is available on the Federal Financial Relations website.

The Plan proposes a range of strategies to facilitate the delivery of healthy lifestyle interventions in and through workplaces.

The Healthy Workers Initiative will complement the significant investment already being made by the Western Australian Government to progress adult's health through addressing the above modifiable lifestyle risk factors.

Note: This implementation plan belongs to the Department of Health and has been created subject to the provisions of the National Partnership Agreement on Preventive Health and should be read in conjunction with that agreement.
