Organise a physical activity committee as well as a social committee
The Local Activity Grants program was a joint partnership between the Physical Activity Taskforce and the WA Local Government Association (WALGA), made possible through a Lotterywest Grant. The Local Activity Grants program offered matched grants for local governments and community groups to encourage new and innovative approaches to increasing physical activity. The grants recognised a sustainable increase in physical activity requires a cross-government, multi agency approach.
The ninth and final round of the Local Activity Grants closed in November 2008. This was the final round of grants under the Local Activity Grant program and no further funding is available.
The PATF and WALGA recently engaged the Health Promotion Evaluation Unit to conduct an evaluation of the long term effects of the Local Activity Grants. View a copy of the Evaluation of the Local Activity Grant Program - Technical Report
